Unfortunately we have no data to make proper monitoring whether changing climatic parameters , the coverage of land - use , hydrological regime of surface and groundwater or the other important parameters that enable the extraction of important decisions to remedy the problems not a few who have . So the degree of monitoring leaves much to be desired . Agricultural land , forests and the rivers are purported in postwar Kosovo . Forests in many communities are destroyed , their biomass is reduced drastically . Once Kosovo forests characterized by high forests and abundant water resources , now dominated by the low forest and bush , where some of the resources that already exist there once . Deforestation is a major disaster as well as destruction of agricultural land from construction . Forests are the most important stabilizer of the environment . Thermal and hydrological regime stabilize by reducing the rate of evaporation of surface water, reduce the erosive power of water , reduce the likelihood of occurrence of floods and stabilize the supply of groundwater reserves .
